Early Hip Hop

Hip hop rap and Pop-rap have been popular for generations now. Perhaps for the simple fact that rap remains to be the most comfortable form for self expression, even today. The universal acceptance of hip hop stems from people opening up to Hip hop early. We tend to shift towards Hip hop music since it induces a feeling of liberation. It often creates an illusion that one can escape the harshness of reality and social condition by penning down lyrics and making music. But not all the creative music make it to hits.

Hip hop history also proves that it has always been about the demands of youth and a response to the elders. It is a kind of expression of the “young people”, about their desires.

Looking at the world hip hop picture, it improved because of the elevation of black radio in the early 70’s. Black Radio always played an important role in preserving the culture and telling their story, but it also grew to influence the African American community greatly.

On the other hand, hip hop performances included break dance crews. Following these, the block parties became popular. Break beats became a rage and rap music played almost all the time at gatherings! Hence, in a way, we can say, that a musical tradition was beginning to be made.
