The Hip Hop Effect – Culture Trends

The most empowering effect of hip hop culture is its power to bring people together. It is a strong form of music that brings people from different origins and age groups together. And where there are people there is communication!

Expression of thoughts through music has transformed over the years. Simultaneously, this hip hop culture has also affected language. At different stages, as hip hop rap and Pop-rap music have evolved and they have influenced various languages; adding many words to the English and other dictionaries.

One such, very popular hip hop word commonly used today is “chill out”; m eaning relax.  As strange as it may sound, that is where it all originated - as a way to “relax”. Early hip hop music began in order to liberate the youth from the challenges that they faced. Yes, we are talking about hip hop in the early 1960s and 1970s where they served the purpose of venting out the frustrations of social and economic decay in America.

Even today, in the USA, hip-hop-culture is an extension of what-we-are. The hip hop culture affects the trends in living, thinking, and even dressing – for a fact, hip hop clothing is very popular.

Hip hop is further still integrated in life with the invent of technology- for instance you can carry out your routine activities while you listen to free music!  So, in a simple understanding would be that hip-hop is not just music; it is a way of life!
